VEspertine cover without swan overlay

Postby Bleepo » Tue Jun 13, 2017 8:36 pm

I digitally edited the M/M overlay off the image (and also colorized it) to see what the original photo would have looked like. I've never seen it anywhere.

Thank you, that's beautiful. But could you try messing with the greys in the first one to make it lighter, like the album cover? I tried a few things in Gimp 2 myself, but couldn't get it done.

oh gosh how cool it must have taken you some time :) it's really smooth, just the hair and hands edges are a bit sharp but the rest is incredible! great job :D

I reduced the contrast if that's what you mean? Hope that helps. Maybe someday they'll show the original photo. I'm also still holding out for behind-the-scenes Homogenic photoshoot pics. :(

Sure! It was pretty tedious, but glad to share with fellow fans so we can sort of imagine the original pic!

Also interesting to note: when I was editing this, I noticed that it looks like they may have superimposed two different shots; one shot with her arm down (to support the swan head) and one shot with the raised arm pose that we see. In the cover image, it looks like the swan shadow falls on something other than the pavement, and if that's her breast, it looks like it's in a really unnatural position/size. Who knows.

 I can't unsee that now! It reminds me of those dodgy Photoshop efforts you see online like these

Yeah, you're probably right. Just looks weird to me how it continues off the bottom of the image in a straight line.

As an aside, does anyone know if this is another Inez shot? If so, is it Björk? If so, is it from the vespertine cover shoot? It looks like it could be to me. Particularly how the wet hair lies on the face, the arm, ...

Nice!

This is the image of the photo shoot:

Image
From the look of this, the swan beak should overlap the white of the dress

Image

but it doesn't. in fact it looks strange in quite a few different ways. i think it is an edited photo
