Balcony tickets for my sister and me. I didn't know what the floorplan would be like, so I just told my bf to buy the best balcony seat. Hoping it is a good spot :)

I have heard very mixed things on the sound, ranging from perfect to crappy. So perhaps the sound engineer is very important in this venue. Top tier also might be worse...

I see a lot of complaints on social media for two reasons: poor sound quality in vorst (i experienced great quality with moderat a few years ago, maybe some echo, but that can be cool too 😎). The other reason: the high prices. It seems they don’t advertise enough the special features of the show, the 360 stuff, the special instruments, ... i you expect a normal concert indeed prices would be rather expensive. It’s all about good marketing

i bought arena tickets. yeah, it's expensive, but i'm happy i've seen some footage from the ny concerts that has convinced me it should be worth it.

i'm still a bit puzzled she's playing both belgium and luxembourg, as they basically both serve the same (benelux, north france and west-germany) market. it might indeed have something to do with the venues' suitability for her sound setup, although I can't imagine there being no halls in, say, germany, the netherlands or some other country that would be suitable. i fear for her not being able to sell out both brussels & luxembourg...

I heard from a reliable source that there are still 1000 tickets left for the brussels gig
I think the publicity for this gig has been too ‘basic’, they didn’t focus enough on the unique concept of the concert
What do,you think?

If it's anything like the UK dates, the venues are too big, and tickets are too expensive (not entirely her fault - they're normal arena prices). Less intimate/more sterile spaces than she usually plays over here, for a hugely marked up price. I can understand why casual fans are giving it a miss.

was very impressed with the show. very directed, so little room for improv.
her voice was amazing, loads of bass, harmahlíð choir doing a great job too...

same outfit as in mexico (both parts of the show) - same setlist also

enjoyed it thoroughly and glad i witnessed it (was somewhat disappointed with last year's shows in Ghent and sweden)

Yes really good! So much going on. The last song she invited everyone to dance, and everyone stood up from their chairs. Very respectful public, no phones during the concert.

I wasn't expecting the show to be that different from last year, but it was quite different in parts! Her voice was very strong.

I think it was pretty amazing overall - apart from some too-heavy bass on blissing me and utopia especially, the mix was very good. the (20-piece) hamrahliðakórinn was unbelievable. it must be quite difficult to harmonize when everyone is amped up individually, but they did it. Also really enjoyed their intro.

:logo: seemed to be into it, apart from a flubbed verse of body memory (after which she seemed to look on the monitor a lot during the rest of the song). i most enjoyed the 'directed' parts, like the incredible, near uninterrupted hypnotic flow from the gate to isobel. blissing me took me out of that a bit, and i think the middle part could use a bit more flow from song to song. but then came the pagan poetry-to-tabula rasa segment, which i adored.

very good night overall. Also loved the pink kabuki wig.

Before the concert they announce you can view official concert photos (by Santiago Felipe) on bjork.com. But where???

Or does he post them only on Facebook and Instagram?

ps: amazing concert, I was sitting in row 15, right in front of the little stage-extension.

Very good reviews, except for humo/de morgen:

De Standaard:
https://www.standaard.be/cnt/dmf20191114_04715337
Björk unrivaled in a wonderful new world

De Tijd:
https://www.tijd.be/cultuur/muziek/de-k ... 81800.html
In the bus home it was quiet. Everyone was catching their breath. A big contrast with the euphoria during the closing track 'Notget'. "Stand straight and dance," Björk had called to the first rows. Then the whole ground floor - until then stunned and stuck in their seats - began to jump around frantically. A magical final chord of a sublime spectacle. Who is doing better this year?

Dansende Beren:
https://www.dansendeberen.be/2019/11/14 ... eet-bjork/
We know what the singer stands for, but she managed to blow us off with this visual performance, where the music was also of a very high level. Cornucopia is a superhuman performance that might just be the best of the year.

Humo/De Morgen:
https://www.humo.be/concert-reviews/407 ... kleren-aan
Thunberg's clear discourse came in so much harder than the artistic flower and bee stuff of Queen Bee Björk. Judging from the reactions afterwards, "Cornucopia" certainly did not appeal to everyone. Because the magic, you could whistle for that this time….

Don't really understand the de morgen review. It seems they mostly take issue with utopia, but them describing her as 'a toddler who doesn't know anything about harmony' kind of falls foul of her consistently dead-on vocals throughout the evening...

Apparently the reviewer also didn't like the Gent concert, as he doesn't like Utopia and flutes. Let's just say that he had a hard time last night  They probably should have sent someone else :shifty:

My sister loved it by the way, she was prepared that she would not recognize most songs, but was blown away by evwrything.
