because of how it affected me in the way i represent myself (ok, i'm twisting your question here a bit). when it came out, it not only marked the beginning of my exploration of björk's music. i was also in the middle of puberty and trying to make sense of myself and the things around me. i really got into the album right after 9/11 and all the insecurity that international politics was projecting on young people like myself. so looking back on it, vespertine was really a place to find safety and solace. and yes, i'm also very domestic and winter-y, but that would have been too obvious as an answer, no?
