i have a theory: the next album will themed around oceans. now that she lives by herself she reconnects with her motherland and the view from her house onto the sea. it will have anchor song vibes but with a new environmental edge to it. it will be both simple and expansive like the ocean, mostly acapella recorded in the reverb chamber and it will also address climate change in some way.

The concept is great, the acapella part not so much.

knowing her, she might go the ai-is-soulless-because-no-one-put-the-soul-in-it route and create a medieval techno folk album with chatgpt, using only extinct musical instruments

and I'll be here for it.

Oh her social media comments will be unusable. But there's been some really cool AI music coming from Holly Herndon, patten, Oneohtrix Point Never, so I don't doubt she'd have something interesting to add

And in the words of Perfume Genius

I think Utopia digital sales also came with 10 "Audiocoins" for a certain amount of time which are now basically worthless, I don't know if she ever talked about it again

I like the idea of the ocean album, but that is also what a lot of people thought fossora was going to be.

i am here for anything to be honest (apart from dr9 kinda stuff) and i really wish that they invested in a seriously made campaign this time around.

i find it really counterintuitive that, back in the day, we had all the meester fly snippets and the lake experience "leaks" to get us excited about upcoming albums and, now that doing all that would be a lot less expensive and we have social media practically tailored around that sort of micro-content, we don't get anything.
