that would be cool. kinda like a shadow theatrea cute way for her to be "visual" without crowding the stage too much (i loved Cornucopia btw) would be with light projections, she kinda already used those for Homogenic back in the days, and the lasers during volta, but i feel like she could experiment a lot with sculptural and volumetric lighting
sufjan's carrie & Lowell tour comes to mind, at least the way is was shot for the filmthat would be cool. kinda like a shadow theatrea cute way for her to be "visual" without crowding the stage too much (i loved Cornucopia btw) would be with light projections, she kinda already used those for Homogenic back in the days, and the lasers during volta, but i feel like she could experiment a lot with sculptural and volumetric lighting
Autechre shows are like that, they play in total darkness, with some strict rules regarding the crowd behaviour during the show – no phones, no lights, no moving around during the performance unless there is an emergency etc. (of course there are always some assholes in the audience who ignore them but what can you do)As anybody ever toured in total darkness ? Live music but in the dark so there s nothing else but sound to enjoy, would love to go crazy and experiment stuff like that
Maybe I’m in the minority, but I would be totally fine without a big ass screen behind her. Yes, Cornucopia had incredible visuals, crafted with great care and creating spatial effects I’d never seen before at a live performance, but I doubt she’ll top this. Meanwhile, the short Vulnicura and Utopia tours in 2015–2018 took such a lazy approach – either just the music video or stock National Geographic footage projected behind her. The Biophilia app visuals also looked sort of corny. I remember thinking the moon phases changing to the beat looked like a cheap screensaver lol
The Volta tour had no video projections, IIRC – just lightning and lasers – and it was cool
