Huuuuge thank you to Crystalline63 for all the hard work at reproducing most of the fonts we were missing, and to benjicoq for getting us some of the official ones and for the help on the recreations!

hello there,

we are very happy and honored of the painstaking work done by the fans to recreate the fonts we created for björk, and are happy as well for you all to play with them and do your own personal cover art. since these are so specific and were crafted specifically for björk, we are only asking you to not use these in any commercial context, as we do not sell or distribute our fonts to be used by others.

it's not so much about control, it is more about preventing those signs to carry messages that they were not designed for, even if your best friend food truck would look amazing in the vulnicura font — which you've completed before us! yay.
we hope you'll understand.

more visual treats coming soon your way we'll hope you'll enjoy.

love from m/m
Enjoy! :duck:

ah, i never went as far as making it into a proper font, because the volta font is Tricolor... 2 colors for each letter plus the little bones in another color...
I just kept my individual letter parts in illustrator to create the words by hand on my volta creations

and yeah, the ones available until now were pretty approximative ;)

congrats, tough, it will be appreciated <3

The lowercase "j" is a little further up than it should be, for if I have put it in the correct way it would get cut by the bottom. I hope that isn't much trouble...

However, I'm really glad you appreciate the effort put into this!
If you want me to work in any other Björk font, just let me know

Thanks! But as the old-schooler that I am, I still use Windows XP :dizzy: and I don't want to download Photoshop/Illustrator for it'll occupy all the space free in my computer, so I use PhotoScape.
Which means those files wouldn't open. :( I appreciate your help though

Thank you very much! The font is indeed much better than the one we had before.
BTW could you please share the font that you used to write 'a volta font'?
I've been searching for it like crazy but can't seem ti find it anywhere.

:hyper:
Hello fellow 4ummers! :)

I don't know if any of you have noticed, but the Volta font available on the internet is a not-so-well-done fanmade font. A few letters are different from the letters on the single covers of the Volta era, which makes me a bit annoyed sometimes.
So I started working on this font a few months ago and I finally finished it.

This new font includes lowercase to the letters "j", "ö" and "r" (to compose the Björk logo); letters with and without "bones"; exclamation and question marks, comma, full stop, hyphen, apostrophe, colon, semi colon, quotation marks and the respective "bones" so you can structure the letter by yourself with a different color more easily.

I made a simple presentation with all the characters, which can be found below.

Image

I hope you enjoy this font, and find it useful somehow.
I know it's not perfect, but at least it's usable.

SIDE NOTE: If you find any trouble with any character don't be afraid to let me know for I'll be sure to fix it as soon as possible.

(I am, indeed, aware the original producers of this font are M/M Paris, but if the other Björk fonts are available for free download on the Internet, I see no reason why this one shouldn't. This is a reproduction with no commercial use intended. If I get requested to take it down, though, I will respectfully do it.)

first (i'm sorry if it's a bit harsh) this in not even close to looking like the vulnicura font : it's not hollowed like that (and the font would never work with all letters being at the same level anyway)
second, it's impossible to make a "font" out of something that has color nuances (like the sewn letter, that have shadows and stuff)... a font has to be solid...

the font inside the booklet is AVUS PRO.
the lettering "sewed" is made one by one because each level is too irregular and the combination are endless!

By the way, is there an official font (or maybe a fanmade one) for the "Voltaïc" box set? :album10:

I tried to reproduce the letters with rounds (quite easy :P ), but I definitely can't redo the "flame" and "bone" symbols in it... Any ideas? :)

here's what the font really looks like :)
it can be extracted from the pdf booklet

but as i said, it's not possible to use is as a "font", since the letters join at different levels, and have many possibilities to be joined. The fact that it ca also be bi-color is a reason it cannot be transformed as a font

Thank you for the tip, Benjicoq!
Even if it's impossible to use it as a standard font, I'm going to extract the letters anyway.

I saw you managed to reproduce some Björk's font very well.
Would you mind helping me for the "Voltaïc" font I'm making, please? :)

UPDATE: I found the digital booklet, and tried to extract the letters. I just have PNG logos, and I only have the font used for the lyrics. But I don't have the individual letters like on your image. Is it normal?

I just realised I didn't have this digital booklet... so disappointed

Right now, I'm working on a reproduction of this "Voltaïc" font. I'll try to show you a snippet of what I already made (the standard letters, actually)... if I manage to insert a picture in my posts! I don't know how to do it! :dizzy:

By the way, I wanted to congratulate you for your fantastic "Brass" font! You did a perfect job, really. It's not even possible to compare your work to the first fanmade "Volta" font that appeared on the web...! :album10:
