I'm going for Debut, not because I think it's artistically the best but just because, for me, that represented Björk best for quite some time in the 90s and I guess I preferred its simplicity to the Post and Homogenic covers.

It was just totally different to what I was expecting when I first saw it. I can remember really puzzling over what the music was going to be like. I also like the story behind it (sending love despite being restricted).

Yeah medulla and vespertine. Faves. But I like them all. They could be fashion shoots, or art. They arnt usual front covers of albums. Each of them is a theme chosen by bjork on purpose to reflect the music contained with-in.

All the art-work and the photoshoots has been integral to each release. I think this is what has always impressed me with her work. The effort involved, so you know its not rush released, that a lot of time and energy has gone into making it in the first place. Unlike other peoples music and art-work, that you just know some idiot executive of a company has made for them with their bias view of what sells. (God I'm ranty today! Have decided to edit this before posting to not be too bias or ranty so I stopped there) anyway, what was the question? Lol

Each of the covers are unusual, and I have noticed other people are now copying

and doing more arty interesting covers, even mainstream crap I wouldn't listen to if I was made to. And finding different approaches to get the music to the fans etc, anyway I'm going off topic again. Shall shut up now.

It's perfect, expressive and dramatic

is perfect color-wise, I am just not very fond of the necklace that reads Medulla, a bit too obvious (and the thing hanging from the "u" is vexing me)

is beautiful and rich

i really like them all (except biophilia) so it was really hard to choose.

is really simple and a great portrait to kickstart the series and her career. but i don't think it truly represents how the music sounds. it may represent how the songs came about and her feelings at the time, but there's a certain disconnect between the image and the actual sounds.

is just great. the songs sound just like this image. i think it's incredibly strong and beautifully shot.

lovely. this may be one of my favourite photoshoots. as an album cover it's kind of a non-entity, though

iconic, strong, almost-perfect ! i sort of love the fact that we only have this photo from the photoshoot, it adds to its mistery and ~iconicity !

medúlla is beautiful but it's not much of a character, is it?

voted for volta. it's colorful, represents really well the upbeat tracks of the album, it is also very very iconic, and i appreciate all the thought that went onto the creation of the image. it sort of "breaks" the pattern but not really which is great.

for me, this is the worst. it looks so bad. i think it would be great if it didn't have the constellations over it, or if at least they didn't have that awful "glow". the picture is great but with so many elements over it, it ends up looking very clown-ish. the cover for "cosmogony" would have made a beautiful album cover.

i love it and so does everyone who i've had the chance to discuss it with. i think it represents so well and beautifully so many of the themes and lyrics of the album: the wounds, the "swarm of sounds" that heal. as i was listening to homogenic yesterday i noticed the lyrics of "all neon like". i had the cover of vulnicura in my mind while the song played

^^ agreed, everything about Medúlla is perfect, especially the artwork. The only thing that could have made the cover more perfect was if they used that photo of the back of her head as the back cover!! Homogenic has always been my least favorite of her album covers, but to each their own

Now I have the physical Vulnicura (with acetate), it's my new favorite. A cover which has a narrative all of its own and plays around with all kinds of beautiful juxtapositions (organic/inorganic, horrific/angelic, earthy/celestial, dark/light etc.).

Björk is fantastic here but she lies on aggregate concrete / washed-out concrete, not sure how's that called.
Now for me this The most unromantic material imaginable. It smells like boring garden parties in the 70s or something.

Maybe is just for all the love that i have for homogenic. But for me homogenic wins(also the single of hunter with the bear is great). When i was a teenager i imagine a comic very moebius i think, with a similar character that could morph herself into a bear!

I think they were pretty much inspired by the lyrics and music itself. They have a lot of explicit lyrics. Everytime I see the Life's Too Good cover, F*cking in Rhythm and Sorrow comes to my mind, it really suits the song because of its energetic vibe and bold lyrics.
