do you think she'll treat this as a festival gig or a regular vulnicura one? i mean, she probably has two different kinds of setlist like with the biophilia tour. i don't see the carnegie hall set in a regular festival, but boooy do i want to hear all of vulnicura at this gig..

I don't know to be honest. It's not festival rather her solo performance but in quite huge open air space. Hard to say

Worst case scenario is like: it is called Citadel Music Festival
-> short festival setlist (1 Hunter, 2 Army Of Me, 3 Pagan Poetry, Goodbye Berrrlin!)
even though it is planned/marketed/meant to be a full show

I'm going too! I'll travel from Istanbul, somehow it's connected to that festival but it will be like biophilia concerts at Mif I suppose - solo full show, you know.I would rather an intimate venue for Vulnicura, anyway. IT'S GOING TO BE MY FIRST BJÖRK LIVE EXPERIENCE

it's probably a festival in the way manchester international festival is a festival; specially curated gigs rather than a big impersonal multi-stage chaos. here's hoping anyway as i very well might be treating myself to this for my 30th birthday...

there won't be anyone else but her right, maybe one support? So it's more like full show..but even Biopjhilia festivals they were nearly 90mi shows.

I was on her last Biophilia show at Berlin Festival and it was a blast!!!

And yes i'm waiting for UK theathers(?) dates.

Does anyone know how big the Zitadelle's capacity is? Somewhere it said 3500 but I don't believe that.

I think it will maybe be a modified setlist, but I think she won't exclude the breakup-Vulnicura material, because those would automatically 6(!) songs she couldn't perform. Maybe she'll pick some punchier tracks (so not 'Undo', 'I See Who You Are' or 'Pleasure is all Mine') for the second half...

Or is this just wishful thinking?

The Zitadelle is commissioned for 3.000 - 10.000 visitors. For Open-Air gigs 10.000 is the maximum.

I believe so, 3k is minimum it's quite spacey venue and it's open air.
But the view is perfect from every point of it, so it's going to be perfect show (unless pouring rain will be added as a bonus ...hope not!).

The only thing I don't like that much is that it begins that early...

But what I read concerts have to be over by 10pm due to complaints of residents nearby.

Yes, I've been there to see Alanis Morissette, they were recording the show for DVD (released only in Germany) at the full day light, at least first half of the show was like that.
I already booked my flight to Berlin and going to spend there whole weekend

I went to Arcade Fire show in Berlin last June and watching the band by daylight ruined the experience a bit

The coolest part of the show was really after it finished, it was already dark and Win Butler came out to DJ a bit. Most of the audience already went home so there was lots of space to dance to Bowie's 'Rebel Rebel' and Lennon's 'Mind Games'

Well, but August is not June, it WILL be a bit darker. The interwebz say the sun sets at 20:57, I'd say Bjork will start around 20:00.

These new shows she is playing in NYC are almost in full (electric) light. The lights/production isn't that important this time for her... so seeing her in a daylight will be very interesting experience after all

gig in Nîmes also began when there was full daylight and it was getting dark during the performance. I prefer concerts at night, but I loved the concert in Nîmes nevertheless.

I must admit that I love outdoors gigs that start at sunset and end when it's dark. The changing natural light adds to the experience IMO. But it all depends on the performer, of course.

It is quite huge venue and still many almost 3 months to show date.
I'm sure all of us in the front row will give Bjork the best possible audience feedback experience anyway

I am glad it's a solo show but would not mind an interesting support act though!

Last solo 'open air' show I saw was in Amsterdam. Jamie Lidell supporting.

That did not really work.

Also seen her outside once in Belgium (Werchter). Lineup: Björk, Radiohead, Underworld.
