I was planning a March trip to Boston. Luckily I haven't purchased any tickets yet so I will hold off until the dates are announced. I hoping early March so I can still so my family events and see this show once or twice...Im already planning a March nyc trip so hopefully that works out!
amen!i really hope nyctaper (or some other "professional" bootlegger) will be going to the concert. It would be nice to have at least 1 high quality bootleg this era.
But what cornucopia means?![]()
But what cornucopia means?![]()
the cornucopia is a mythological symbol for fortune and abundance used in ancient greece/rome.
today we still use this symbol, particularly in naples because of its greek origins![]()
it fits very well with the utopia theme![]()
It is a first for Bjork, but it's quite common for other artists to 'name' their tours separately from the albums. Perhaps this time they're giving the performances a new name and branding because by the time the concerts happen it will have been about 1.5 year since the album was released?Really interesting what cornucopia will be. Choosing an extra title for a concert is a first, or ??
will fly for that to nycI hope the strap on will make a comeback!

I wouldn't expect big musical surprises (the backing band is the same and the 'elaborate' setting will possibly limit possible setlist variations) but I'm sure the visual aspect of the show will be amazing. Here's hoping a video recording will surface.
I guess it depends on whether Cornucopia is a oneoff or not. Not that it hasn't stopped her in the past, but I suppose she hasn't mentioned whether it's just The Shed or more showsThe viola tour kinda went through a name change to voltaic, at least when it was released on cd/dvd. I get the feeling Cornucopia as a physical package will be closer to voltaic than a traditonal live album.
On a side note, as a completist it would be great to get a utopia live album before cornucopia begins in the spring. Then cornucopia could contain the live dvd and maybe a cd version a la Biophilia live...
Nice, yes, i have seen that imagery beforethe cornucopia is a mythological symbol for fortune and abundance used in ancient greece/rome.But what cornucopia means?![]()

cornucopia = horn of plenty
(latin: cornu = horn, also ancient wind instrument // copia = supply, luxuriance, prosperity)
I don't know if it's a one off experience but from the wording it sounds like it's going to a residency-type situation with multiple shows at The Shed. When the Utopia Tour was announced, it was described as a 2 year world tour, so I imagine she'll continue performing Utopia live after The Shed, at least until next summer (late 2020 album release?). I would love it to travel the US and visit our friends in Canada and Mexico, too.I guess it depends on whether Cornucopia is a oneoff or not. In a first for the innovative multidisciplinary artist, Björk and a team of digital and theatrical collaborators, including Tony Award-winning director John Tiffany, will present a new staged concert of live musical arrangements, digital technology, and stunning visuals. A chorus and cast of musicians will join Björk for this eight-concert engagement in The Shed’s iconic space, The McCourt.

I think she will perform more re-arranged versions of her catalogue rather than exclusively or predominantly Utopia material, otherwise she would have kept the "Utopia Tour/Show/Live" rather than coming up with a new live show concept.I think Biophilia is most likely the greatest thing8 shows and joined by a chorus ...

So I'm here for this, but does the music and theme of utopia require all of this? It's not the epic that vulnicura was and it's not the solid concept piece Biophilia was.
one single contrabass flute would've made the flute concept work musically. Instead all of this is justplaying her princess-fantasy schitck that's getting a little tired.
I'm hoping to eat my words and be blown away by substandard music being played really, really well.
