One of the most influential and ground-breaking musicians of all time, Björk, joins us at bluedot 2020 for a very special festival exclusive set. She will close the festival with a uniquely commissioned performance alongside Manchester’s famed Hallé Orchestra featuring incredible bespoke projections on the Lovell Telescope.

It’s a uk exclusive, so there might be other options outside of the uk?

I wonder if it will be a new piece Bjork composed and not a traditional concert. Very excited about some new news regardless!

i will record the whole concert and share it with the ones here who will not make it <3

by the way : she hinted on this with the sister city hotel project in nyc with all that opening of her choral arrangements archives so my question is ... anyone who've been there could share the songs played ? it could mean potential songs to this cheshire gig's setlist ! ! !

i guess i read it somewhere songs like thunderbolt and where is the line get played :dizzy: that could mean she can bring them back <3 <3

also : this project could mean the end of cornucopia's tour and start of something new ? because if not : this would be the first cornucopia outdoor gig

last not least : i joked about 808 state inviting her to sing ooops or qmart live when they get a chance and they liked my comment

just for the record : 808 state will perform at the bluedot festival too

(the dreamer in me haha)

my guess is that it's going to be an one-off show like coachella in 2002, or maybe a mini tour throughout this year cuz, you know, a girl gotta get her coinzz

I laughed so hard at this ! ! ! when I read the news I instantly remembered the mini Vulnicura strings tour but I am really anticipating it because we could be about to see björk’s first gig with a full orchestra (if I’m not mistaken)

Very daring for her to perform classical music at an electronic festival <3

Ps. If there is anyone familiar with the halle orchestra’s work please let us know

I'm really excited to hear Bjork work with a full orchestra. Her composing and arranging skills have been really terrific from Medulla onwards with strings, choir, and brass (plus flutes) so I can only imagine when she has an entire orchestra at her disposal.

I wonder if this means a new project is upcoming or if this is another live iteration of Utopia...

I should have typed ‘full orchestra only’ haha because the vespertine tour was electro-acoustic (matmos)

Do you understand how excited I am ? Lol <3 <3

I would like to here utopia songs with strings instead of flutes.

In 2007, at the volta tour, to hear string songs with brass was so exciting !

(and of course, she should record all those rehearsals and potential shows !)

not to be that bitch but this is literally a dream with every letter.... her voice is getting worse and deeper every year and nowadays she sings the same songs basically (the anchor song, pleasure is all mine, isobel...). but i would love me sum 'play dead'.

realistically we're going to get 17-19 songs, some from utopia & some 'hits' like hyperballad and bachelorette (an octave lowered). definitely 'the anchor song' and 'isobel', i can vouch for that.

no need to be rude to her aging voice. Yea, she doesn’t sound like she did in the 90s, but saying her voice gets ‘worse’ only highlights your opinion. I happen to love the vocal aging. And it’s no way near an octave lower, at most I think aifol was lowered from C# to b, one full step. Stop exaggerating. Voices age. Learn to love it. Its beautiful.

We seldom talk about her new low register, new notes she’s able to reach that she hasn’t before. So there’s loss, but also gain. Ok end rant love yall

I saw her live a few months ago and her voice was extremely strong, both the high and the low notes & her screams were much more powerful and supported than during the volta and biophilia concerts I saw

i am excited to hear how she will sound this summer <3

24 July 2022, :logo: orchestral with special visuals

She’ll be joined by The Hallé Orchestra for her performance at the UNESCO World Heritage site of Jodrell Bank Observatory. The show will also feature a unique visual display as video and animation is projected onto the iconic, 76-metre wide Lovell Telescope.
