Stjarna: Dream Album Project + Survey

Hey everyone!

Last week I mentioned in the B10 thread that for my final major university project I'm working on an album packaging design project for Björk, based on a dream I had last year. I'll be using this thread to share some updates on the project once I progress, but for now I can share with you the original dream, and a survey!

This survey is about music listening habits and your thoughts on music packaging. The first section is general stuff and the second section is questions relevant to Björk's discography. I really enjoy y'all's insight on her music so I would appreciate if people could answer the questions in here!

Here is the original dream as I told it in a dreamjournal channel on a Discord server right after I woke up





A few things are changing in the design process. One thing I can tell you is that the album title has changed from "Étoile" to "Stjarna" (the same word in Icelandic).

What do y'all think? Is this an accurate prediction, something Björk could do next??

Your project is so cool and I like the whole concept behind the album how do you plan in designing the mockup for the cover? Are you going to use old photoshoots or a collage of photos? I'm very interested in the process

tHANK YOU! Admittedly I didn't consider photo collages so I should experiment with that haha. I was initially thinking of a photographic route with a model or myself, but upon thinking more about it, I'm probably going to go down an illustration route.

I'm trying to think about this project as though I were actually asked to design an album and have to work with the resources (and budget) on hand, which means no Inez + Vinoodh!

I'm also trying not to be too stubborn with the creative process and allowing the dream to be the impetus rather than the final result, so the cover will likely also change

I submitted my project yesterday which means my uni course is over! I'll be taking a break from it for a minute cause I'm wrecked but after that i'm going to add in some extras and definitely show you guys what I've been doing
