no chance
unfortunately
would be amazing though.
hope you're right with the summer shows but the last time she debuted new material on an old tour was 2001, so she's more likely not to do so now. New bjork has been far more selective/protective/restrictive about what/when she releases stuffwhy not? I don't see anything impossible here especially that she has finished recording the album a long time ago apparently.
maybe now being February it could be a bit too early but she probably will do that with the next shows starting from june in europe.
have they announced the orchestra yet? couldn't find any info on thatthe next shows will be strings only

In 2001, Who Is It and It's In Our Hands just needed small changes to fit in the Vespertine tour, because they are technically Vespertine songs. And I'm sure it just slipped your mind jp, but the last time she debuted new album material was actually in 2003, when she performed Show Me Forgiveness, Desired Constellation, Where Is The Line, Mouth's Cradle and Storm during the Greatest Hits tour. One of the reasons she could was because that tour wasn't connected to one specific album and theme. She played a mix of songs from her previous 5 albums (including Selmasongs and b-sides), so new songs would fit in just perfectly fine. This also made the Greatest Hits tour more fun for her, instead of only having to sing older songs (again). And probably explains why that tour had the most new songs of any tour she's done.
Though I'm sure we'll have the first single before Orkestral ends, I also don't expect her to perform any new songs during it, because as always, they will have a whole new sound (with less or no Arca at all) and all connect to the new album character. I just can't imagine her stripping them down already to a more bare orchestral arrangement, losing their impact before they have even debuted in their originally intended form on the new album. Remember, the new songs during the Vespertine and Greatest Hits tour weren't finished and in their final album form yet, but the new ones are. They've just been waiting in a mountain to be released.
Love this. thank you.a little history of björk premiering songs early:
- "the modern things" & "army of me" were played during the debut tour (1993-1994)
- an early version of "i miss you" is played during one of the interludes in the "vessel" dvd.
- an early version of "5 years" was played a couple of times in 1995 during the post tour, also played in march 1997 on the nordic council music prize performance.
- several homogenic songs were performed before the album release on the tibetan freedom concert in june 1997 and the homogenic promo tour in august-september 1997.
- "i've seen it all" made its debut in the union chapel concerts in december 1999, one year before the release of "dancer in the dark".
- "it's in our hands" was performed throughout the whole vesperine tour in 2001 before its official release in 2002.
- an early version "who is it" was performed twice in italy in 2001, 3 years before its release in 2004.
- "desired constellation", "mouth's cradle", "show me forgiveness", "where is the line" were performed various times during the greatest hits tour in 2003.
- "storm" was performed various times during the greatest hits tour in 2003.
- "the dull flame of desire", "innocence" and "declare independence" were played in iceland in april 2007, one month before the release of the album.
- the first biophilia residency in manchester took place 4 months before the album release in october 2011.
utopia
- björk played snippets of "losss" and "sue me" during various dj sets in 2016-2017, as well as the samples present in the album.
...anyways, fingers crossed for new stuff soon (even tho i doubt it)
i find this seriously perplexing. i don't really get what the point of having an orchestral tour now is. it almost looks like she has a bunch of arrangements ready from the strings leg of the vulnicura tour and now she's using them. maybe she had planned a longer tour but for some reason she moved straight into utiopia? to me it is extremely strange that she didn't play one single utopia song. I get it that she didn't in iceland, given that the fourth night was mostly utopia stuff but now?nothing different let alone new...

i don't find it random, actually, i find it very predictable. she has 150 songs on her discography that she could pick but she just chooses the 15 ones that have a ready score to sing over and over...i find this seriously perplexing. i don't really get what the point of having an orchestral tour now is. it almost looks like she has a bunch of arrangements ready from the strings leg of the vulnicura tour and now she's using them. maybe she had planned a longer tour but for some reason she moved straight into utiopia? to me it is extremely strange that she didn't play one single utopia song. i love how we keep trying to foresee how tours and releases are going to evolve and then she just does totally random stuff.
yes, easy, but why now? I mean, she has an album that is apparently almost ready. SHe could release it straight away if she needed to be doing something. and if she wanted something easy she could go on with the utopia tour (if not cornucopia to keep ticket prices higher). Instead, she prefers to go back to a setting that she had just before utopia. to be it's just as weird as if she just come up with a post era concert a week after the last vespertine gig.

Q: You are actually preparing for two tours. There’s Cornucopia. But you are also doing some orchestra shows. They are very different outings, yet it seems like they might also balance each other out quite nicely.
A: They actually complement each other for me as a singer. For me, the orchestra show is a like a holiday — I just arrive with a dress in the back and turn up and sing and go home. It becomes more about me the singer. I work with the local orchestras from each place so I am more like a guest or a visitor.
And the Cornucopia is like the total opposite, where I basically am responsible for every single detail in every single department. It couldn’t be more opposite.
bless your rationality, faber.after years of nothing amidst the pandemic I think she's just happy to be performing, plus it's an "easy" setup that requires no big preparations and fuss.
And btw...we can pretend she has found a hidden pot of gold somewhere but the truth is that her projects are pretty darn expensive and she needs some sort of income considering her albums are not commercial blockbusters (not that I care) . I mean even big popular names like Lionel Richie or Mariah Carey have declared how important is it to tour nowadays because music isn't selling like it used to be, meanwhile tour tickets are a safe bet especially now that people are longing for live physical experiences
I mean I don't particularly find this setlist to be her most exciting ever but if she came back to Italy hell yeah I would buy a ticket, like, immediately
this made me loli don't see how singing about your nasty breakup that happened over 8 years ago is fun but different strokes for different folks i guess
I didn't know you were from italy. but yeah, i am with you. I might not understand her choices, but this being said i bought tickets for all 4 icelandic shows and i have the one for berlin in my pocket so obviously this is all just for the talk.i mean i don't particularly find this setlist to be her most exciting ever but if she came back to italy hell yeah i would buy a ticket, like, immediately

Felt less vulnicura-like, plus the overture was a great revisit (first time for all strings I believe)
Hyperballad was the highlight for me! Such a perfect version. Never been a big fan of the song but this version...
Thank you so much!finally got around to editing/eq'ing the 2nd Miami show (with the overture)
