2015 reissue debut gold vinyl

Postby mountaintide » Wed Mar 09, 2022 4:45 pm

Hi, I have 2 questions about this:
1. Why is it that the coloured vinyl reissue of debut seems to be rarer than all the others in that series, when there were the same number released of each album in the set (5000)?
2. does anyone know how to tell the difference from the outside between the gold and beige copies of the coloured vinyl debut (ie without removing the shrink wrap)?
(same question applies to the two colours of homogenic too).

1. do you mean the gold debut or the beige debut? it looks like there are about as many beige debuts as there opaque green homogenics on discogs.

i believe the gold debut translucent pink post and translucent green homogenic were pressed at different plants than their more common counterparts. maybe they either misinterpreted the directive or just didn’t have the same colors available. as far as i remember there’s no way to tell what you might get from the sleeve.

hi, and thanks for the reply.
I mean the 2015 coloured vinyl reissue of debut, which was a limited edition of 5000 copies. i'm wondering why it is harder to get hold of a copy of debut from this reissue than any of the others in the set, when the same number was produced of each. it sold out sooner than all the rest, and far fewer seem to come up on ebay or discogs, and is much more expensive when it does. medulla and poor old volta can be got for about twenty quid, while debut can be 100 pounds plus.

and now that i have one, i was wondering if i can tell without opening if it's beige or gold - thank you for the answer on that, guess I will have to keep wondering!

I have one beige and one gold and the stickers are different: one is matte beige, the other one is shiny gold. I think is unlikely that this is just a coincidence? :dizzy:
